Changes to patent fees in Tajikistan

In 2024, in the Republic of Tajikistan, the amount of fees for actions related to the legal protection of industrial property objects will be increased.

In particular, the fee for filing a patent application for an invention will increase from 384.39 to 394.61 somoni. The fee for industrial design applications will also increase up to 339.89 somoni. The rate for applying for trademark registration has increased by 2% and will now be 345.29 somoni, while the rate for registering TM will rise up to 1,973.02 somoni.

The changes also affected the annuities for invention and industrial design, they increased on average by 2.6% compared to the previous year. The fees for reinstatement of an invention patent terminated for non-payment of the compulsory maintenance fee within the prescribed term have increased significantly – by 20% on average, so now applicants need to pay more attention to the annual fee payment terms to avoid paying additional fees.
