Changes in the field of intellectual property in Uzbekistan

By the Decree of the President of Uzbekistan starting from April 1 the changes aimed at improving the system of intellectual property protection are introduced.

The restriction on the registration of trademarks and service marks exclusively in the name of legal entities and individuals engaged in entrepreneurial activity is canceled
Accelerated examination is introduced due to which the registration terms of intellectual property objects are reduced
Exporters, whose share of exports is more than 60% of the total turnover, as well as entrepreneurs working in the field of agriculture and handicrafts, are exempt from paying official fees
