Draft Law on Restoration of Standard Time Limits in Ukraine

On May 1, 2025, the Law was signed by the President of Ukraine and officially published.

Accordingly, it enters into force on May 31, 2025.

From this date:

- all suspended time limits in the field of intellectual property shall be resumed taking into account the time elapsed up to their suspension in accordance with Law No. 2174;

- the total duration of a time limit may not be less than 75 days;

- all actions of the applicants and payment of fees made up to August 13, 2025 (including this date) will be deemed to have been performed in due time.

This draft law revokes the Law of Ukraine No. 2174 “On the Protection of the Interests of Persons in the Field of Intellectual Property for the Period of Martial Law” and restores the standard time limits for:

- protection of intellectual property rights;

- procedures for acquiring these rights;

- payment of fees.
