Changes in the tariffs in Kazakhstan
January 6, 2026
The order No. 614 nk “On Approval of Prices for Works and Services Provided by the Republican State Enterprise under the Right of Economic Management ‘National Institute of Intellectual Property’ of the Committee on Intellectual Property Rights of the Ministry of Justice of the Republic of Kazakhstan” was approved on December 31, 2025, and entered into force on January 1, 2026.
Under the new Order, fees for key intellectual property actions - including registration, examination, publication, and maintenance of the IP rights - have been increased by approximately 3% to 15%, depending on the service. The increase affects patent procedures, including inventions, utility models, and industrial designs, as well as services related to the registration of trademarks, copyrights, and other IP types.
Among the notable changes is the introduction, as of 2026, of an additional fee for trademark applications covering more than 10 goods and/or services within a single Nice Classification class, which results in higher registration costs for applications with extended lists.
In light of these changes, we recommend confirming the cost of registration and prosecution of intellectual property rights in advance, taking into account the updated tariffs. Our specialists are ready to provide a detailed cost estimate and offer optimal solutions for the registration and protection of intellectual property rights in Kazakhstan, as well as in any other country in Eastern Europe and Central Asia.
