Increase in Uzbekistan's IP fees

June 29, 2026

Pursuant to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. PF-115 dated June 23, 2026, "On increasing salaries, pensions, scholarships and allowances" a new Base Calculation Rate (BCR) will take effect in the country starting September 1, 2026. This measure is aimed at further indexation of economic indicators and the enhancement of social protection levels for citizens.

The increase of the BCR from 412,000 to 440,000 soums directly affects the system of government fee payments in the field of intellectual property. Since the majority of official fees are calculated based on the multiple of the BCR, a change in this indicator automatically leads to an adjustment in the cost of all registration procedures and maintaining IP rights in force.

The entry into force of the new rates means an increase in official IP fees by approximately 6.8%. For clarity, we provide calculations for key categories of services:

• Filing a trademark application in one class (legal entity): at a rate of 6 BCR, the cost will increase from UZS 2,472,000 ($205.75) to UZS 2,640,000 ($219.73).

• Filing a patent application (legal entity): at a rate of 4 BCR, the cost will increase from UZS 1,648,000 ($137.16) to UZS 1,760,000 ($146.49).

• Substantive examination of an invention application: at a rate of 12 BCR, the cost will increase from UZS 4,944,000 ($411.49) to UZS 5,280,000 ($439.46).

Applicants are encouraged to take these changes into account when planning their IP filing strategies.
