We would like to inform you that we have taken a decision not to file any patent and trademark applications in Russia and Eurasia until the end of the war in Ukraine.
General Information on the Eurasian patent organization
The Eurasian patent office of the Eurasian patent organization is an intergovernmental and international
organization based on the Eurasian Patent Convention (EAPC). The EAPO provides services for protection
of intellectual and industry property granting the Eurasian patents after consideration of received
applications for different types of inventions. By now, the EAPO has registered more than 50000 patents
in the Register of the Eurasian patents that covers the territory of all Contracting States* of
the Eurasian Patent Convention, after paying all initial and annual maintenance fees .
It is important to mention that Moldova also used to be a member of the Eurasian Patent Convention, but
recently deposited a notification of denunciation of the Eurasian Patent Convention that took effect on
April 26, 2012.
However, this denunciation has no effect for granted Eurasian patents and conventional or PCT
applications containing designation of the Republic of Moldova for a Eurasian patent filed before April
26, 2012. Therefore, if the application with the filing date earlier than April 26, 2012 enters the
Eurasian regional phase, the Eurasian patent issued in respect of such application may be valid in
Moldova provided that annuities are paid for said country. If the PCT application was filed on or after
April 26, 2012 for obtaining protection in Moldova it is necessary to enter the Moldavian national phase
separately.
